well, we got the phone call we had been so excited to receive. leslie called us from the airport, very happy and eagerly anticipating going to costa rica. it was wonderful to hear her voice. dennis had it all planned. he sat by the phone browsing the internet and when the phone rang he grabbed it, said' hello sweetheart, we love you', then handed me the phone and went downstairs to pick up the other phone so we could all talk together. he told me this plan in advance so i wouldn't miss my cue. everything went just as he wanted it and we got to talk to her for about ten minutes or so. she borrowed some nice man's cell phone at the airport. her new mailing address for pouch letters is:

she says for the pouch you can only send post cards or single sheets that are folded in thirds and taped at the top. no envelopes. dearelder.com says you can use that site to send letters that will go in the pouch and they are free. i guess we can try that and see how it works.
i asked her how her spanish is and she said "bueno" (at least by mtc standards) that answer may change when she gets to costa rica. she sounded happy and excited. she said she loved the cd we sent her...said it was "probably the best thing ever" so thanks fauverettes for doing that. i was going to post some pictures of our winter cooking adventures but i think i'll save it for another day.

I'm glad that you got to hear her voice. I'm sure it was a wonderful conversation. It is so exciting when they finally get to the mission field. She will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
I'm glad all went as planned. I know that Dennis was nervous about it, he told us so while we were there but it sounds like you have one great missionary and we look forward to hearing more from her in Costa rica! Thanks forthe fun while we were down there with you guys. We wish we coud have stayd there longer. We have been enjoying our last few days with my mom for a while. Mostly getting things taken care of for them while they aregone, like email, financial advisors, house stuff and more. I hope we ca handle things while they are gone! Well hope to see you again soon, thanks again! We love you!
It is so exciting to think of her in
Costa Rica. All day yesterday I would stop and look at the clock and say to myself She's in Dallas, She's on the plane, she's landing, she's at the mission home. I was imagining it all day long.
I can't wait to get a package off to her. It will have to be something St. Patricky, since I try to stick with a theme. I am glad that you both got to talk to her.
